When I was in second grade, my teacher told me I would make a great writer someday. Soon after, my dad bought me a typewriter from a garage sale and told me I didn’t have to wait for ‘someday’, I could be a writer today!
Why I Started Storytellers Studio
I want every child to experience that same kind of encouragement my Dad gave me. Kids are naturally creative, but many begin to doubt themselves when writing becomes all about diagramming sentences or reading books they don't enjoy. My goal is to help students bring their ideas to the page, develop strong writing and editing skills, and experience the incredible confidence that comes from becoming a published author.
A Little About Me
I studied Elementary Education with an emphasis in English at Utah State University and have self-published several novels of my own. I love helping students experience the same excitement of seeing their own stories become real books.
As a homeschooling mom of four, I understand the importance of finding curriculum that's both academically meaningful and genuinely engaging for kids.
My Favorite Part
My 8-year-old son wrote his first book while attending my first ever writers workshop, and I loved being able to share my love of writing with him. Now, I get to share this same excitement and knowledge with other kids. I still get so excited to see each new published book! My favorite part of this job is seeing a child hold their finished book for the first time.
